A Best Place To Work in Seattle . . . The Rest of the Story

Seattle Best Places to Work

When Impinj was named the 12th best place to work in Seattle by Seattle Met, we were pretty excited, not only because the Met is a widely-read, very cool magazine, but also because we are: 1. a very geeky company that produces things that make most peoples’ eyes glaze over at a party; and 2. we don’t have the kinds of budgets and committees that companies often dedicate to winning these kinds of awards.

Yes, we have most of the bells and whistles of a high-tech startup in Seattle – stock options, great benefits, a ping pong table, beer at monthly “all-hands” meetings, bagels on Fridays, fruit delivered weekly, free parking and bus passes for everyone, a prime location in the “Center of the Universe” (aka the Fremont neighborhood of Seattle), fantastic parties, and a nap room. But what really makes Impinj such a great place to work is the people, which, although that may not be interesting enough for a “best places” article, is what matters most.

No award or clever article can convey what it is like to have a great place to go to work every day—great not because of the bells and whistles, but because we have truly amazing people who care about the company, each other, making excellent products, and serving our customers. It’s an experience we often take for granted. Thank you to Seattle Met for reminding us.
